It's All About You Interview With Emma Paton (Finlay Fox)

The lovely Emma Paton writes the insightful Finlay Fox a Kids & Mama Fashion & Lifestyle Blog www.finlayfox.com Emma was a fashion buyer for twelve years in London before becoming a mother of two to Finlay and Violet. She then refocussed her love of fashion so that it works for her new mum lifestyle status to write the blog. I have met Emma at so many fun events that I have lost count, it's always nice to see a friendly face in the crowd. I know many of you will have also met and know Emma from going to events including many great Mama events she has run herself and from reading her blog. We wanted to ask Emma the hard core questions that count....Has a hangover since having a child ever been worth it? See her full It's All About You interview here

My favourite out OUT look:

Red lipstick (also helps hide tired eyes!) and a jumpsuit

My favourite in IN look:

Comfort all the way.... In my Parent Apparel Good Yawning sweatshirt and some joggers, sheepskin slippers

Knackered mama style tip:

Red lippie distracts from tired eyes and coffee coffee coffee! Also I find making a bit of an effort with what I'm wearing help

Palm print or florals?

Tough one... I love both but love a palm print to remind me of sunnier days

Flamingos or pineapples?

Pineapples - even more so in a pina colada!

Last time you had a full night's sleep (over 7 hours):

Im fairly lucky as the kids are good sleepers at the moment but I always naturally wake up early even if they don't. Honestly can't remember the last time I had a proper sleep in in the last 4 years!

The first thing you do once the kids hit the sack:

Cook food or run around like a mad woman tidying the house to try to return the house to a sanctuary of calm but more often than not sit and eat surrounded by mess and chaos still! And wine is often opened :) I try and work on my blog in the evening a couple of nights a week but more often than not my mind is fried so sofa and TV do the trick.

If motherhood were a cocktail it would be called:

A rollercoaster. But I think the ultimate mum cocktail is an Espresso Martini!

Has a hangover since having a child ever been worth it?

Yes definitely! It's good to let off steam by going out and having fun. There's nothing wrong with giving your kids a TV nanny / iPad day the next day!

Favourite thing your kid/s says:

Finns- Tinky winky dipsy lala ho (instead of po)

Violet- loves shouting bye really loudly she can't talk yet!

24hrs without the kid/s, what’s your plan?

Massage, booze, eat out, cinema, sleep, don't get dressed, vegetate

Essential item for motherhood survival:

Breadsticks & raisins for the kids, wine for the mamas!

Would you put on make up to go and buy make-up wipes?

Depends how tired I am! Used to be yes currently no

Most embarrassing motherhood moment:

Forgetting Violet's name when asked it on my first trip out, honestly for like 5 minutes my mind was blank, talk about mum brain ;) !

Mama super hero power you would choose:

The power of being able to go out spur of the moment!

What do you wish you’d been told about motherhood beforehand?

How 90% of your time you will have snot on you. How you will spend more money and time on your kids wardrobes than on yourself and also how important it is to do some excercise for both physical and mental health

Three words to describe yourself:

Exhausted, mama, nice

Exciting upcoming plans:

I've always wanted to do a Finlay Fox boys or unisex kids range.... watch this space!
