It's All About You Interview With RoamingWithRami
I first met the gorgeous Justine (aka @RoamingWithRami) and her beautiful daughter Aramide as brand new mum's at a yoga class. From the start I knew she was just too cool. Even with a two month old she had all the moves down and wore some pretty cool yoga attire and don't get me started on Aramide her wardrobe is to die for. I'm so proud of Justine who I now happily call my friend as she has started the most awesome blog recently and her following is increasing by the day/second. She openly discusses the ups and downs of parenthood through her adventures with a sassy one year old in London with some style inspiration added on the side. To celebrate her new blog here's the Mama Rules, It's All About You Interview to find out more about Justine.
My favourite out OUT look:
My go to is always pretty simple, high waisted jeans and some form of cropped top with heels... and always (hootchie) hoop earrings.
My favourite in IN look:
Gym gear. I think it must make me feel better about the fact that I don't make time to go gym anymore
Knackered mama style tip:
Always throw on a statement jacket or for me; Black leather jacket and shades!
Palm print or florals?
100% Palm print. It's the island in me!
Flamingos or pineapples?
This is a hard one, but I think I had have to with flamingos! I love exotic animals.
Parenting rule you’ve abandoned:
To not breastfeed whenever my daughter wants.
Last time you had a full night's sleep (over 7 hours):
If I'm honest, Aramide is a pretty good sleeper, although she is now up from 5.30am!
The first thing you do once the kids hit the sack:
Cook dinner
Has a hangover since having a child ever been worth it?
Hell NO!! I get no sympathy and still have to function at 100%... so I always regret it.
Favourite thing your kid/s says:
"No" and waggles her finger she's only 19 months so the waggling of her finger makes me giggle.
24hrs without the kid/s, what’s your plan?
Clean, gym and then hit Cocktail hour!
Essential item for motherhood survival:
Coffee. I can not function without it.
Would you put on make up to go and buy make-up wipes?
No. I don't tend to wear make up everyday.
Most embarrassing motherhood moment:
I still breastfeed Aramide so she's now old enough to pull my breast out whenever she sees fit. We were at the mechanics and she pulled a swift one on me and I looked up and we were on camera!
Mama super hero power you would choose:
Patience! And the ability to be in many places at once.
What do you wish you’d been told about motherhood beforehand?
Be prepared to feel vulnerable and out of control! I was not someone who worried if I could handle the responsibility or felt I needed to be showed how to do anything however I would say that if/when I take time to sit down and really give thought to how much I love and live for my daughter it starts to scare me. Without sounding pretentious, it's only something a parent could ever dream of understanding. This deep love takes over and then I get a sudden pang of vulnerability and feel very out of control.
Three words to describe yourself:
Introverted, fun-loving, daring.
Exciting upcoming plans:
After launching the blog this year I am just looking forward to putting my all into it and seeing what comes of it. I've had some positive feedback and for me that is really touching. Also loads of travel and a visit back home is on the cards so I feel really positive about the impending months ahead.
Why do Mama's Rule?
Because we can literally do it all. I see phenomenal women everywhere I look.
